Kindergarten holds a special place in the hearts of whānau – and being a 'kindy kid' has been a rite of passage for New Zealand tamariki for more than a century now. There are so many stories of families coming back generation after generation, and it's something we never take for granted, especially as there are so many early childhood education options open to families today.

So we're excited to be able to let you know there is a new way for the Kidsfirst whānau to celebrate its pride in being part of kindergarten and to support our services, too. By now, you will have received a promotional kit, samples of our first-ever line of Kidsfirst merchandise, and details about how the online shop works. It has now officially launched, and enables easy and fast online ordering and payments.

Delivery will be 'click-and-collect' from kindergartens – and the great news is, each kindergarten will benefit from the proceeds of each sale, so long as buyers nominate them before they check out.

Initially, we are producing branded sun hats, and tote bags, and will look to expand the line once the inevitable glitches are ironed out from our online systems and processes. It won't be perfect to start with, but it's worth the effort – we're building something great here that can help to keep the kindergarten spirit alive, and lay sustainable foundations.

The website is now live at https://www.kindykid.co.nz/ – encourage your whānau to get clicking – it's a great, easy way for them to support your kindergarten, and for tamariki to show their kindy pride. The hats are perfect for the hot summer ahead, and the bags can be used by parents and tamariki alike, for everything from daily kindy essentials, to grocery shopping, and toys.

We've sourced high quality, sustainable products to reflect our commitment to kaitiakitanga, and have priced the product to make it as accessible as we can. We can't wait to see our kindy kids out and about in those hats – be sure to send your photos so that we can feature them on our social media channels.
