There was excitement for tamariki and whānau alike as our regions returned to Level 2 last week.
We celebrated by putting out a call for photos of the fun, learning, and friendships of the first day back, and we were so excited to see such a great response. Thanks to everybody who took the time to send through photos, which were published to the Kidsfirst Facebook page throughout the day. You can see the posts on our Facebook page.

We wanted to be able to show, not just tell whānau, that kindergarten is back to normal, and that it continues to be a safe and fun place for tamariki. The mahi that teaching teams put into getting the photos out there goes a long way towards reassuring whānau that it’s kindergarten-as-usual, and help those who might be a little apprehensive to feel more confident.
No matter how uncertain the times, kindergarten has remained a constant in the lives of tamariki, whānau, and communities for over a hundred years – thanks to you, for your role in keeping that spirit alive.
