We're in full swing with the New Year marketing campaign, and seeing a solid response to our Google and Facebook advertising. Again this year, we are pushing the '20 Hours Free, Even for 2 Year Olds' message and 'Get More' for those kindergartens offering it.

While the advertising provides good brand-level coverage and we are able to target individual areas, promoting individual kindergartens where we can, what happens at a local level is just as important.

It's been great to see our 'Focus' kindergartens working so hard with community events, whānau get togethers that keep waitlist families engaged, and other local marketing initiatives.

Meantime, you'll probably see our Mall Doors if you're out and about doing New Year shopping - they've had a freshen up with new imagery and are looking great. We've secured them in the areas we are able to. In some areas, they are unavailable or cost prohibitive.

The Open Day (10-2 January 27th) gives everybody the opportunity to benefit from the increased profile that the associated promotion brings, and now's the time to make sure you're got a plan to make the most of it. As discussed at our recent cluster meetings, we are having another Open Day in January 2021. This was really successful across the network last year, helping to boost enrolments.

What do you need to do?

  • Make a plan before the end of the year for distributing the posters and fliers. Ask your parents to take them out to their various community places: churches, music groups, sports activities – any places where families go.

  • And discuss how your team and tamariki will make visitors welcome on the day.
