COVID uncertainty continues, and as the transition through the ‘Traffic Light’ framework continues, there is still a lot of change.
It can be hard to keep up with all the shifts, and as the festive season takes off, there is a lot for kaiako and whānau alike to keep track of – requirements around vaccinations and masking, visitor numbers and social distance being the main issues we’re all dealing with.
Understandably, some whānau are nervous, and we know kindergartens are doing a great job of providing reassurance and a sense of calm. But there’s another area we need to remain mindful of – and that’s how we are reflecting the seriousness with which we take COVID, in our imagery.
Safety and wellbeing are top of mind for whānau, and those thinking about joining their local kindergarten, so it’s important they are confident that tamarki are safe and happy, even when things are not so certain outside the kindergarten gate.
We’re being extra vigilant across our digital marketing channels – Facebook, the website and Instagram – to ensure that any pictures or videos send the right messages about COVID compliance. It’s something we all take very seriously, but from time to time, unexpected things happen, or a photo can make people seem closer to one another than they really are.
So, when you’re sending photos in, or posting them on Educa, please double check that nothing is depicted that could be perceived as a breach of the current guidelines.
It’s hard to tell from an image whether or not visitors or adults are from the same bubble, so we try to avoid posting images where whānau or visitors are close to one another. If you’re taking photos to post later, please be mindful of this.
Please check for mask compliance, too. And, be extra vigilant around ensuring our excellent hygiene practices are visible in any photos and videos.
