It's not long to go until the 2022 AGM – if it's not in your diary already, be sure to save the date – and now's also the time to organize your parent representatives. Hopefully we will be able to run the AGM and awards ceremony in person, on the 25th of May – we will let you know if this changes.
We're changing things up for the awards this year, to mark our 110th anniversary – and we have a special set of awards to mark our 110th year.
These will recognise outstanding work in a number of areas that have contributed to the strength of Kidsfirst over these years. As well as celebrating our history, we want to keep these ideas alive, going into the future.
This year, we will again recognise the Community Champions who make such an important contribution across the network, every day.
We know you're flat out with COVID, so the Professional Leaders will put teams forward for the internal awards, but we need your help to identify our Community Champions.
Community Champions can be nominated by any kindergarten team who can tell us how this special person supports their kindergarten, embraces our values, and how what they do benefits the kindergarten community.
We've had some fantastic entries, and recognised some amazing people in the last few years. Last year's winners, who attended the AGM to pick up their award, were so proud to be there, and honoured by the recognition. It's a great way to celebrate them, but also to highlight the important role that community connection, and contribution makes to our kindergartens.
Has your kindergarten got an extraordinary person whom we can honour? Just email jenny.pitama@kidsfirst.org.nz by 30 April 2022.
Here are some highlights of our Community Champions from the past few years:

We're looking forward to seeing you at the AGM on the 25th of May.
