One of the most unique things about kindergarten is the way each service responds to the needs of its local community. It’s a proud tradition that goes back to the establishment of kindergarten more than 100 years ago – and it’s one that remains central to the Kidsfirst difference.

Our kindergartens serve diverse and unique communities all over Canterbury, Central Otago, and the West Coast, and we want to ensure that our marketing and social media activity reflect that.

Sharing your kindergarten stories and showcasing your teaching team in Kidsfirst’s online newsletter, Whānau Connect section of our website, and on Facebook and Instagram does so much more than just tell stories. Every mention of your kindergarten helps build its online profile, supporting your Google search ranking and telling prospective whānau more about how and why your kindergarten is special. This content can also be shared with waitlist whānau, and those looking at whether Kidsfirst is right for them and can bring the story of how your kindergarten is different to life.

One size never fits all, for tamariki, and whānau and, the same principle applies to Kidsfirst’s marketing strategy. We are always looking for new faces to feature and news that helps tell the story of how Kidsfirst is Better Because. It’s especially important for those in rohi that are outside of Ōtautahi, Christchurch, where so many of our kindergartens are located.

If you’re keen, so are we. All you need to do is fill out the online contact form and we’ll be in touch. You don’t need to write a whole story – we’re here to support you in getting your story told.

We also know the difference it can make for whānau to see photos of kaiako when they are deciding whether a kindergarten is right for them. So, if you’re one of the teams that hasn’t got around to getting your staff photos up on your kindergarten page, get onto it. Welcoming, smiling faces help personalise the experience for prospective whānau and can really give your kindergarten the edge over the competition, whose personality may well be hidden behind a cookie-cutter corporate brand.

Karawhiua! Go for it!
