Our long history, strong values, not-for-profit status, and the important role that whānau and community play in helping kindergarten thrive have been foundational to Kidsfirst – and kindergarten – for as long as we have been around.
This year's website updates are focused around deepening our content and engagement in these areas – with three significant new sections coming to the website soon. With so many more prospective whānau searching and shopping for early childhood services online, we need to make sure our uniqueness is clear, and those foundational ideas that are such a strong part of who we are need to be kept alive.
By term 4 each kindergarten will have a reinstated individual history page, celebrating our 110 year legacy, and keeping alive the stories and photos that make up our rich past. More content will be added next year, as we undertake the massive task of working through more than 100 years of imagery, letters, and records, especially those of the last 10 years. We want every kindergarten to be represented, and have it's own digital mini-museum.

We're also building a section of the website highlighting sponsorship and donations – recognising the important role that commercial sponsors, trusts, and foundations play for us – and enabling Kidsfirst to give them greater recognition for their contributions. We'll be featuring annual awards stories and photos here, as well as making the case to others to support Kidsfirst through donations of money, goods and services, and time.
The third key piece of digital work this year is a merchandising site, enabling whānau and supporters to show the Kidsfirst aroha with pride, and support our work by purchasing fun and colourful products featuring our 'Kia ora Kindy' brand.
We'll let you know once these three key platforms are headed for launch day – and we look forward to sharing the excitement with you then.
