Bringing the Uara to life

As the Uara Waypoints come to life across Kidsfirst, the Board has been exploring ways to embed the ideas behind them into organisational strategy.
As our governors, our Board members guide the direction and activity of Kidsfirst at the very highest level, and our values – expressed as the Uara – guide how strategic objectives and goals are delivered.
At their early April meeting, the Board used our handy Uara Worksheet tool to look at where these ideas are visible in their current mahi, and where opportunities exist to integrate them more. They then worked together to map out a course to get them there.
The Worksheet is an evolving tool that has worked well with for Head Office teams, and that will be available for kindergarten use from the start of next term. Board members noted that the exercise helped them to solidify their thinking as a team and reflect on the importance of connections to the wider organisation.
This work paves the way for August's planning process, where the Board and Strategic Leadership Team will set Kidsfirst's direction for the next three years.
