It was good to 'see' everybody, even if it was just virtually, for our first Hui session of the year.

Again, the Professional Leaders presented a programme that was thoughtful and inspiring. I was struck again this year by everybody's determination to make sure that this important event not only went ahead, but was engaging and relevant.

As we all settle into the new term and adjust to life at Orange, there are new living-with-COVID challenges. I am very aware of the difficulties that can emerge with divergent whānau views as we continue to respond to new conditions. I am sure this won't be the last adaptation we will all have to make, and as government restrictions ease a little, new complexities emerge. Kidsfirst will carry on doing its best to balance all the competing needs and opinions amongst our extended Kidsfirst family, and we will continue to live up to our name by, above all else, putting tamariki first.

Thank you for your ongoing dedication and professionalism. I look forward to the opportunity of seeing our Canterbury staff at our AGM at the end of the month.

Ngā manaakitanga,

Sherryll
