
We're celebrating the best of Kidsfirst again this year, and we want you to be a part of it. You can enter your team or nominate another team, and don't forget our Individual Values Champion and our Community Champion - we want to hear your stories.

Here's what we're looking for:

Innovative and exciting initiatives (Kindergarten or Other Team) executed between January and December 2020 that go above and beyond every-day activities

Nominations for individuals and teams who demonstrate our Kidsfirst BetterBecause values (Passionate, Whānau, Engaged, Proud, Inspiring) and motivate others to do the same

Nominations for our Community Champion award - recognising the wonderful people who support our kindergartens with practical help, funding and/or resources.
To enter:

Fill out the quick and easy entry forms for your team or Kidsfirst individual, team and Community Champion awards.
Check the entry form for the requirements for each BetterBecause Values Award:

Each team may only enter into a maximum of two categories, and each story may only be entered once.

Photos, video and other supporting evidence are not required but may be submitted to support entry.

If you use photographs or video, please ensure you have the appropriate permissions as the entry may be used in Kidsfirst promotions.

The team entering need not be confined to a kindergarten – it may be a project team, a functional team, a professional learning group, etc.

Please ensure you have a word or PDF version of your submission before you start the online entry process as a back-up.
Judging Criteria:
Each entry will be judged by a panel with members from the Kidsfirst Board, Strategic Leadership Team, Professional Leaders and Glass Tower against the following criteria:
Team Entries
1. Learning / Outcomes (20% weighting)
What were the learning outcomes for tamariki, whānau, community, your team?
How was this evidenced? Is the learning sustainable?
2. Collaboration (20% weighting)
Is the entry a collaborative effort, inclusive of tamariki and their families, the community?
3. Exemplifying the Kidsfirst Value (60% weighting)
Does the entry truly exemplify the Kidsfirst value in an innovative and amazing way that shows this is fundamental to the team?
Individual and Team Nominations
1. Exemplifying the Kidsfirst Values (60% weighting)
a. Does the nominated person or team model all of the Kidsfirst values in an innovative and amazing way that benefits our families, community, teams and our organisation?
2. Professional Leader Comment (40% weighting)
Community Nominations
1. Exemplifying the Kidsfirst Values
a. Does the nominated person or team bring added value to our tamariki, families, community, teams and our organisation?

Entries open 15 March and close 30 April at 5pm.
